In Memoriam – Kevin Chalkly
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kevin Chalkly. Kevin was a director of the company and although he was only with us for a relatively short time before his illness, he made a big impact as he did throughout his career, both as a well-respected and regarded member of our team and also became a good friend to many who immediately warmed to his generous and caring manner.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Paul Seward, managing director of E-Warehousing has written this suitable eulogy summarising just how well respected Kevin was.
“Kevin was kind, polite, courteous, helpful, adventurous and above all passionate about life. He was a good friend, a very valued colleague. I personally already miss him and will continue to do so for a long time into the future.”
There were three things Kevin was dedicated to:
His family
They were by far the most important part of his life. He loved them more dearly than anything, and he spoke of them often and with deep feeling.
Life
Kevin was passionate for adventure whether it was walking the dog on Dartmoor, or sailing around Lands End, which sadly we never got the opportunity to do so.
Work
He worked hard and achieved results. I am sure wherever he worked, they were very lucky to have had him as a colleague and a very important member of the team.
Even after moving on to new pastures he was still loyal, particularly to Expeditors. He made and retained good lifelong friends wherever he worked.
He had a major impact on E-warehousing, developing the corporate approach which resulted in all kinds of business development.
He thoroughly enjoyed work. being a valued colleague, a director and a shareholder of the company. He will be greatly missed by all of us and many of our customers.
His achievements during the short time he was with us with, notably the expansion of our warehouses, on boarding Expeditors (a worldwide 3PL), developing a bonded warehouse facility and more recently updating the company Health And Safety.
Everybody who met Kevin liked him a lot and came away thinking; “I have met one of the good guys of life“
